MEDIUM LOAD RFI / INSIGHT

ERCOT will not issue a new voluntary medium-load RFI after Monday.

Market Notice M-B091426-02, sent September 24, 2026, sets Monday, October 5, 2026 as the last day ERCOT will issue a new voluntary Medium Load RFI.

Market Notice M-B091426-02, sent September 24, 2026, sets Monday, October 5, 2026 as the last day ERCOT will issue a new voluntary Medium Load RFI. The customer contacts its DSP. The DSP sends the load information and the attestation to [email protected]. ERCOT issues the RFI only after that package arrives. A package that arrives Tuesday does not get one. Any RFI ERCOT does issue still has to be answered by 5 p.m. Central Prevailing Time on October 12, 2026.

The voluntary path is only for a Medium Load that became Substantiated Load after its TSP or DSP answered ERCOT's August 19, 2026 Medium Load RFI. A Medium Load already named in that response still has to complete the RFI.

Which load the DSP submits

M-B091426-01 already covered two groups. One is a Batch Zero conditional large load. The other is a Medium Load, meaning peak requested load of at least 25 MW and less than 75 MW, that a TSP or DSP reported on August 19 as Substantiated Load under ERCOT Protocols Section 2.1.

M-B091426-02 adds a third set. Some Medium Load customers became Substantiated Load only after that August 19 response. ERCOT will not require those customers to complete the State and Community Impact RFI, because they were not Substantiated Load by the response deadline. The customer contacts its DSP. ERCOT issues the RFI only after the load information and the attestation are at [email protected]. ERCOT will issue that voluntary RFI only when that package is in by Monday, October 5.

How the request moves

The long description tells the customer to contact its DSP. The DSP sends ERCOT the customer's load information in the same format, and with the same attestation, used for the Medium Load RFI response. The DSP may authorize another TDSP to submit that package. The address is [email protected]. ERCOT issues the RFI after it has the completed load information and attestation.

The action line is wider than that paragraph. It says TSPs, DSPs, or Medium Load developers who want the voluntary RFI must have the load information at that address no later than Monday, October 5, 2026. The notice does not say a note that skips the Medium Load format and attestation will be issued.

What Monday leaves in place

Monday is the last day ERCOT will issue a new voluntary Medium Load RFI. The answer date for anything issued stays 5 p.m. CPT on October 12, 2026, the deadline in M-B091426-01.

The live October 12 page is that required package. It covers who was already directed to respond, the RIOO path, and the consequences stated in M-B091426-01. It does not carry this Monday issuance cutoff. This piece ships as a new URL. It does not edit that page.

M-B091426-02 states no penalty and no count of loads that missed the August 19 response. It does not say a late Substantiated Load is barred from the grid. It says ERCOT will not require the RFI from that customer, and will not issue a new voluntary one after Monday.

Before the next commitment that treats this RFI as still open

  1. Read the August 19 response. If the TSP or DSP already classified the campus as Substantiated Load, the RFI is required. The file should not say voluntary.
  2. If the classification landed after that response, name the DSP that sends the load information.
  3. Match the Medium Load RFI format and attestation. Address it to [email protected].
  4. If another TDSP will send it, get the DSP's authorization before Monday.
  5. Treat Monday, October 5, 2026 as the last day ERCOT will issue the voluntary RFI.
  6. If ERCOT issues it, keep the answer on the October 12, 5 p.m. CPT clock. Monday did not replace that date.
  7. Leave the live October 12 page as the required-package record.

If line 1 is already on the August 19 list and the memo still says voluntary, the memo is on the wrong notice.

What this piece does not claim

It leaves the Batch Zero exhibit clock and the October 12 required package on the live page. It leaves Section C and the TWDB survey there too. M-B091426-02 does not restate them. It does not count how many customers became Substantiated Load after August 19. It is not legal, engineering, or regulatory advice. The Market Notice and the customer's TSP or DSP control the request.
